I have only had the unit online for about 2 weeks but so far so good! I would like to see a way to get to the wi-fi features via other home automation systems like SmartThings or Google Assistant.

Softens water well and could feel the difference within 1-2 days. Checked the hardness level and see that it lowered the hardness level from very hard to soft. I like the app which allows me to check water usage and flow. Would have been better if it was a tad bit slimmer due to my garage space which was one of the strong factor of considering this model in the first place.

Easy to install, works great, world of a difference. Upgraded for the wifi connectivity, but it doesn't work so; it's the only disappointment. Considering it's an upgrade, it's significant.

Great product that was easy to install and setup. Uses half as much floor space as my last water softener. Inly complaint has to deal with the app. Constantly shows I have no internet connection even though I was able to connect with the softener and am on WiFi.

Our first water Softener ,, The remote functions are awesome, perfect fit for our home and I believe everyone should have this unit, the app is great, we are able to leave our home and watch our water flow and turn our water off and done with this product, we also purchased the Wi-Fi filter system, this is truly a Five Star product. I bought this water softener mainly for the Wi-Fi remote features. It replaced a 10 year old water softener. I have no problem to install it by myself but it requires you to buy an a 1" MNPT nipple for connecting the remote shutdown valve. The instructions manual doesn't show you how to setup Wi-Fi and the app you have to call an 800 number, but a technical service person assisted me with no waiting time. IN 10 minutes, I completed the Wi-Fi and app setup.

The softener is well built and works as expected. I especially like the feature that allows me to adjust the back wash and rinse times because without those, the water tastes salty. I set both to 7 minutes and no more salty taste. Also, immediately after I connected my new softener, the water had a strong chemical taste. I adjusted the rinse and backwash to maximum and ran a couple of regeneration cycles and that solved the problem - apparently the beads aren't cleaned during the manufacturing process. I recommend they put a warning at the front of the manual - so it is part of the setup - describing this problem and its solution.

I bought this for the feature that says you will get an alert if there is a faucet left on. Well, if it is a slow trickle the system does not detect the slow. It will measure if a toilet is running.

I purchased this unit from a big box store and, much to my delight, was able to install it very easily. We are about a month in and it seems to be functioning well. Easy to adjust and monitor salt levels. We have not had any luck with the app, which has yet to work. If you are purchasing this unit strictly because of this feature - I would reconsider. Other than that, the product works well.

The Resin bed failed in a little over a year and ruined multiple faucets and toilet fill valves. Resin was released throughout my house plumbing and needed to be flushed out. My home is on city water with normal levels of chlorine. I called GE for hopefully an exchange given the resin bed was guaranteed for 10yrs. Unfortunately given the softener had made the golden 1 year cutoff it did not qualify for an exchange or service. I was offered a prorated discount to purchase a new one!?! I spent over $650 on this softener and expected a lot more service given I was going to have to drop additional money on a plumber for damage. There is another reviewer that had this exact problem after just one recharge so buyer beware! Don't buy this piece of junk. One bright side was the wifi leak detection. It did save me some wasted water when a toilet korky was stuck in the up position and I was able to shut water off remotely. Not having a backlit led screen at this price point is also a negative.

I have been using the softener for about 6 weeks. So far so good. Easy to install and operate. I like how the salt level usage adjusted itself after learning the amount of water we use. The days left of salt adjusted itself. Very happy with the unit and the app in the phone is easy to use.

The only thing to watch out for is that the manual says it is shipped with bypass mode off, mine was not. I had no water readings for days. I saw a video with the bypass disengaged and looked at mine. Mine was engaged. I turned the bypass off and now my water softener is working.

Coming from 20+years of using the "Hey C.....Man" units, I was left not wanting to spend so much money to get soft water back. I did a lot of research and was left with no real good reason not to try the less expensive GE unit. I am so glad I did ! The unit was a very simple installation that I was able to do myself. It has the latest features of a "Smart" unit so you can view status online from your Smart Phone. It will send alerts if it detects a leak by monitoring water flow. You can even turn off the water remote in the event of a leak and you cannot get home. It allows you to see exactly how much water you are using from any fixture in the house by viewing the app on your phone and seeing gallons used per minute.. Interesting to compare how much water is used when flushing a toilet or taking a shower.
Very happy with the performance so far. I missed my soft water !

Bought a house thats 2012 mechanical unit valve was sticking. You could only manually cycle. With the hundreds of varieties. Home Depot had one in stock. The alkalinity and general hardness is now at stable levels. I haven't retested things like arsenic. From using RODI for cooking/drinking anyways. The unit does filter though.

Purchased mine at Home Depot. Home Depot installed it. I was able to connect it to my home WIFI pretty easy. The mobile app is ok. It is for a variety of GE brands and appliances. They need to put more effort into the mobile app.
All in all, awesome appliance. WIFI mobile app is ok.

Very happy with this unit. Most importantly, it works. My hard water is hard no more, and now I can drink my tap water and let my dishes dry. It's looking like I don't need to install the whole house filter I bought. I love the unified all-in-one design. It looks good in my garage. It was very easy to install - did it myself. I think the WIFI function is worth the extra money. I was sitting on my couch and got a moderate water flow warning. Seemed strange, but walked through the house and found a running toilet. Had I not been home, I could have remotely turned the water off. I also like that it will warn you when the salt is low. I did have a plastic taste and smell in my water at first, but that went away within a few weeks.

Plumber took few hours to install and it is working great. There was a glitch though when the power supply had a broken pin and had to be replaced. GE took a while to ship, they should have done quality check on this basic thing. Happy with this overall..
