this is the worse microwave ever: we are on our fourth oven and the problem continues. it will trip the breaker switch. the wiring was checked and found to be fine. we tried to just accept our fate and deal with the problem, but it is annoying and frustrating. i would not wish this oven on my worse enemy. to top if off, samsung cs said since there is no service center close to is, we must find a way to repair the microwave. terrible cs to match a terrible appliance.

run! we purchased this consumer reports-recommended unit a couple years ago, admittedly as a return from best buy. from the beginning, the control panel had a mind of its own. sometimes the buttons would work, sometimes not, sometimes showing the wrong display. the fan and lights would start by themselves, even at night. dish installed a new panel for free, but it's worse. nothing seems to fix it: unplugging, child lock, pressing buttons, opening the door, etc. we are glad it has never started by itself and posed a danger. the company was going to charge us to come look at it shortly after the new door was installed. we are saving to get one from another manufacturer. but when it works, it works.

as a result of the great cosmetics, the viewing window size is reduced, which made it difficult for my wife to look up and see inside the unit. the touchpad failed to work for many of the buttons. samsung replaced, less than 1 year later most of the keys stopped working again and we have to use the "30 seconds" button exclusively. the venting lacks significant power...the airflow from this unit is barely discernible at the outlet (external venting, about 8-feet ducting). the screen for the vent pops-out on its own, which can startle you while cooking on the range. now the entire unit has failed. so, trendy/expensive appliance that was released before the engineering details were worked out, yet it is warranted as proven technology. i don't enjoy being a consumer "guinea pig"...bad samsung!

we purchased a microwave and the french door refrigerator with family hub, both samsung, about 5 years ago. the refrigerator was an issue from the beginning. the ice maker immediately stopped working. we've had it replaced twice under warranty with the same issue immedately after repair. it'll make ice for a week or so and then jams up and has to be defrosted to get it to work again.
the microwave is the most frustraing appliance yet. only certain buttons work. most of the issues with with the number pads. i keep it clean, has never been abused yet impossible to use sometimes.
i expected good, reliabile quality. unfortuately, we have not had that experience with samsung and due to living in maine, there is only one, yes one repair person that will work on samsung.

by the time i find special buttons - to turn light on under the microwave my meal is cooked! to soften butter, by the time we figure out, butter is counter softened. buttons are hard to push.

Almost from installation, control panel intermittently responded. Tried every suggestion in manual to no avail. Samsung wanted to charge to fix it but relented and replaced for free. Not as bad, still somewhat intermittent, but now the light and fan go on by themselves, sometimes at night! We are giving up. Also noted that Consumer Reports doesn't even list Samsung, except at the very bottom of their reliability list.

The touch buttons on the glass screen work sometimes. It shouldn't be that hard to press the buttons but it takes many tries to get it to work.
This microwave came with the house we just purchased and it isn't that old but is a pain to us.

Absolutely hate this microwave. Just moved into a new house that has this. The touch panel doesn't not work. You have to try your figures at differabt angles and pressure and still buttons won't work consistently. Tried to turn the light off and now the stupid thing keeps wanting me to enter a time and weight no matter how many times I try to hit cancel. I've even tried flipping the breaker and when it comes back on it does it again. Tried using the timer so it did a different function. After jabbing at multiple numbers the 6 worked so I went with that. Will be shopping for a differant microwave that actually has functional buttons tomorrow. Even tried a stylus for touch screens and still no response. Useless.

We bought this microwave just over 2 years ago and since day 1 a few buttons have never worked. My fault that I never followed up with Samsung. Tried to set the clock and couldn't because 8 does not work, very frustrating. Plus shows fingerprints after every use.

We have bought all our kitchen appliances from Samsung and have been happy until now. Last year the microwave started locking all the time. At first you could hold for three seconds to unlock. But for the past six months you have to unplug then plug back in to unlock. I had a service guy come and he told me it was cheaper to buy a new one. Also that he has seen his problem before. I think it's ridicules to have an appliance to stop working properly under three years from purchase. We are most likely going to purchase our next kitchen appliances from another company.

I love everything about this microwave with the exception of the LED over the range lighting. On my previous microwave I'd always used the low light setting as a night light and kept it on all of the time but with this one it has a "cool white" LED rather than an incandescent "soft white" and it looks too cold and harsh against the rest of the lighting in my home. I wish there was a way to retrofit the old style lights back in. Oh, and the pizza setting way over cooks it. The others may too but I haven't tried them yet. I like it otherwise but I only really needed it to perform the basic functions of a microwave and match the rest of my appliances and it nailed those two....

The microwave seems to work well for cooking, warming defrosting etc. It seems to heat more evenly than our previous microwave.
It rattles though when operating (while microwaving) and even shakes the surrounding cabinet.
The fan on Level 1 isn't topo bad. Level 2 is much louder then the noise level doesn't change much with levels 3 and 4.
I like the displays, the easy of use and the Eco Mode but wish it would stay in Eco Mode. You have to hit it after every use.
The LED surface light is very blue -- they could have gone with a more natural color.
The user manual is very limited.
I felt like I spent enough for a higher end model (although not enough for top of the line) but feel I did not get that much value.

We have been happy with our choice over six months and are happy with our choice. Its design and programmable options as factory provided meet easily all our demands. Unfortunately we could not take advantage of outside venting, which would be more efficient than the recycling vent option. (Starting the vent prior to range-top cooking helps eliminate steam and smells, however.)
The buttons on the touch screen are stiff, but hopefully will continue to perform well over the long term.
All in all the size, efficiency, sturdiness, and design of the appliance have met our expectations well.

This Microwave is actually a very nice appliance. The short coming is lack of information. The operation manual was very poor and with limited information. For example, I still have not figured out how to turn the light on.
I am in the process of printing out a 21 page user manual which I found on line at a Sears sight.
First appliance I have ever bought that did not have adequate information to operated.
The oven is pretty sophisticated so you need the manual.

Less than 2 years after purchasing this microwave it no longer works. A Service Technician who was at my home for an unrelated issue told me that he has made many calls to repair the touch pad on this model microwave. Two months after that conversation low and behold the touch pad went dead. Well the one year warranty has expired so it's on me to stand the cost to repair or replace the touch pad; as of this writing I am unaware of what the cost will be (waiting on the technician to schedule a visit). Not sure if it will be worth it to repair/replace the touch pad knowing that it may fail again. I am sure Samsung is aware of this design flaw, if not they should be speaking to Service Technicians who are raising the flag. I am disappointed!
FYI.... the Service Technician said that it's better to purchase models where the touch pad is on the side as apposed to across the bottom as in this model microwave, apparantly steam from the stove below riuns the touch pad.

Purchased the ME21K7010DS unit last October, and have been going back and forth with Samsung ever since. The advertising states you get 2 lights for under the counter, along with a nice spring loaded filter for easy access. However, the unit I received only had 1 light (which doesn't work that well at all - the LED is very weak and is not directed directly down, but toward the back), and two cheap little filters. Best Buy did try to find out what was going on with no success and Samsung is pretty much useless in their support of the consumer and Best Buy. I would highly recommend not buying this unit.

The internal fan that cools the microwave broke in 1 year and the microwave shuts down if you use it for more than 3 mins.
This product is not made for quality, a simple part like a fan breaks in under a year. I don't recommend this microwave from Samsung

We have had this microwave in service for four months. My only complaint, which is minor, is that the touchpad controls are not touch sensitive and must be pressed harder than most touch pads. Other than that, it is a real good value for the price. Everything seems to cook evenly and the pre-programmed options seems fairly accurate.

This is the second model of this microwave that i have purchase. The first was great microwave. But unfortunately I dropped it when we moved. The second was just as good at first. Then the buttons started would work at times and at times not. Now the light on/off will not work at all. I also have french door refrigerator that has problems at times with the buttons. I will not purchase another Samsung appliance since they both had the problems right after the warranty expired.

At first I didn't know if I would like the buttons on the bottom instead of on the side of the door by the handle. It is so much more convenient having them there across the bottom,. I love it. My husband actually picked it out over the other Samsung one model. Because this was an unexpected purchase a storm blew the main circuit board on our old one. Glad they still make the 2.1 cu. ft. and really love he dark ceramic lining versus the Vinyl looking lining my old one had. When my other appliances go my first choice will be Samsung. The only change is I miss the add 30 second would be sensor touch and start automatically this one doesn't have that option. But the other features make up for having to his the start button after add 30 seconds. Overall I Love it.

I've had it for about 2 years now, the touch screen is terrible. One finger print left on the touchscreen can start or stop the air vent, the microwave, the LED light, practically any function the microwave has.
Other than having to wipe the touch screen before each use, it's a great microwave, cooks and reheats quick. Looks great too.

It is stainless steel, compact and powerful equipment in my kitchen. That is completely meet my expectations except some poor plastic connections that handle plastic connection part was broken easily after 3 months which is fixable part if you find the plastic connector but you have to buy whole handle with expensive part price. Overall, it is fancy, powerful, user-friendly, and specified functions for the most using process with sensor control. I strongly suggest this product for smart functionality homes after improving durability.

We got the OTR microwave to match our Samsung slide-in stove. It works great, and was east to install. Concerning the design, the display could be a little easier to engage. The over range lights, and the fan, and even the timing settings could be easier to find/push. It seems like the displays are very small and that you have to hit just the right spot with your fingers, resulting in repeated jabbing at where you think the buttons are; maybe this will improve as we get used to the device. The other issue is the loudness of the fan. There are four settings and it is very powerful (and we are venting it inside) BUT it sounds like an aircraft engine. Surely Samsung could figure out how to diminish this distracting noise. Overall, it is still a very nice microwave. I would still purchase it.

Just purchased this microwave & love it. Has very clean lines & looks fantastic. Has excellent features. Have used the sensor cooking & it works great. Very easy to install. Had 1 minor question & called Samsung, got immediate help. They also followed up the next day with a phone call & email.
Would definitely recommend this microwave & Samsung products to a friend.

I had to replace our microwave because the plastic door and handle cracked and broke. The old microwave was only 1 1/2 years old. I did some research regarding construction and reliability, and once again I found that Samsung had the best of what I was looking for. The door is actually covered in Stainless Steel, which gives the door rigidity. The options for heating up or actually cooking items is vast. The construction is solid and beautiful.
